Hello and happy first week of Spring! These days I have been enjoying watching a forest bloom before my eyes from our backyard windows that look out to a green belt and it’s making me one happy gal.
We are still getting pretty cold days followed by surprisingly warm ones, so springtime is an important season for me to have a lot of options in my wardrobe and the more versatile the better.
That is why I love this cotton polo sweater and today I am testing out just a few ways to style it.
Should we dive in?

#1 Knit Polo Sweater + Wide-leg Denim + Sneakers + Hobo Bag
This outfit is just an easy win in my book, so comfortable to wear just as it is, or if there was a chillier day, I could throw on a vest or a trench and be effortlessly pulled together.
Style notes: What I really love about this outfit is how the top half is all in a neutral beige and brown color palette and the bottom half all in black, it really creates an easy cohesion in an outfit and I mentioned that concept before in this post here. Doing a bra tuck (where you tuck the end of your shirt into your bralette) really creates a nice silhouette as well and is a welcome change for me from the classic french tuck.
Quick note – I’ve noticed the bra tuck works best with bras that have thick bands below the cups or sports bras.

#2 Knit Polo Sweater + Mini Skirt + Tights + Chelsea Boots + Crossbody
This outfit is more of an evening look, but I liked the idea of taking this more classic leaning piece and wearing it a little more feminine, by adding a dressier bag with rounded elements, a skirt, and some tights.
Style notes: If I’m being completely honest with myself, I would make some tweaks to this outfit to make it a full keeper. But I do like it, and over the last few months have just been working with the items I already have in my wardrobe to save for Spring/Summer items. So in the spirit of styling with what I have, I paired this polo sweater with a linen mini, textured tights, chelsea boots, and my beloved Polène bag.
I love the idea of this outfit for an evening look when it’s a little chillier. My only adjustments would be to swap the dotted tights for basic sheer ones like these, and the chelsea boots for knee-high leather boots like these. Two items I have on my wish list for Fall/Winter this year.

#3 Knit Polo Sweater + Leggings + Hat + Sneakers + Fanny Pack

This one is just an easy laid-back look. If you know me then you know how much I love to put a sporty twist on otherwise classic, feminine, or minimal items. Adding sporty items to some of my outfits in my wardrobe really gives my closet a lot of versatility, especially because my daily life activities are mostly pretty casual. It also adds an edge to my outfits and an ease in wearing them and I just love both of those feelings.
Style Notes: The key I’ve found to styling sporty elements into an outfit is to make sure each item has a pair. And in this outfit, there is more than a pair in each category so it really works. The classic pieces are the polo, hoops, and chain, contrasted with the sporty pieces, the bag, hat, leggings, and sneakers. I love the balance of those two worlds.
