Everlane Denim Review + Styling tips

11.20.18Ethical Brands, Fall Outfits0

Back again with my thoughts on these Everlane jeans I’ve been wearing nearly every day!

First off if you missed yesterday’s post, I talked about how comfort is the number one reason I pass on clothing, and how these jeans have been an amazing solution to comfort and style for me in the denim department! You can read more here.

In the great search to find comfortable straight leg denim, I honestly didn’t look too long at many brands because I am slowly adding more responsible fashion into my wardrobe when I can, and have a limited budget. So that made the search more narrow – not one beat the price, style, and comfort of the Everlane jeans I ended up with.

So here is the break down of these amazing little honey’s!

Authentic Stretch Cigarette Ankle Jean

Price || $78

Fabric || 77% Cotton, 17% Modal, 2% Elastane, 4% Polyester

Color || Washed Black

Fit || Rise: 11″, Inseam: 26 1/2″, Fitted through the waist and hip, slim-straight leg, covered button-fly

Review || These jeans are hands down the most comfortable jeans I own. When I first got them I wasn’t 100% sure about the feathering, but they felt amazing and looked fantastic shape-wise, so I decided to do the ultimate test and sit at my computer for several hours, and ahhhh how they passed with flying colors. Finally, pant’s that felt like my style, with the comfort I needed to sit for hours at a time!

I’ve worn them nearly 4-5 times a week since I got them, and they have relaxed a little which I actually like, but have kept their shape and most importantly stayed secure on my waist… no more hiking in these ladies!

They hit right at my belly button on the rise, and right above my ankle with the inseam (I’m just shy of 5′ 6″ for reference). For styling purposes, later on, I did a raw hem myself (cause I’m into those frayed edges), so that shortened the inseam by 1/4 of an inch, but it still felt like a great length on my legs.

Overall these jeans are so worthy of the price and an absolute staple in my wardrobe! And despite the feathering, they are my favorite jean right now.

So glad I took a risk with them!

Style Notes || I went for the ultimate “cool girl” look with this outfit. And nothing says “cool girl” to me more than an all-black outfit with simple accessories, and of course, some attitude thrown into the mix.

A fun formula to recreate this look: bodysuit + cigarette jeans + belt + booties and top it off with some understated gold accessories!

So glad to finally have a high-rise pair of denim that is not a skinny jean, and is so so comfortable! If you are on the market for a straight high-rise jean with some stretch in them, I highly recommend you give these a whirl. And for ethical denim, you won’t beat the price or style.

Tell me, what do you do to stay comfortable in your denim, and what denim brands you are into these days!? Always love to hear!

So much love,

Mary Beth
