Baggy jeans and loose jean alternatives like utility pants have been on the rise for the last few years and it could not be a more timely change for my own personal wardrobe. Lately, the combo of physical obstacles I have been overcoming, working from home, and the reign of comfy clothes during and post c-vid has lent itself to looser fitting clothes in my own closet and style.
So I’m always eager to discover great jean alternatives and play around with ways to style them.
And that’s what I’m doing today – I’ve styled a pair of full-length utility pants with a cozy sweater I have had for years, one of my favorite Polène bags, some sunnies, and one of my favorite types of shoes – the beloved sneaker.
Style Notes: The key with utility pants I’ve found is that the fit really matters when it comes to feeling stylish, they either need to be loose fitting or the inseam needs to be full length. A double win in my book if you have both.
After the fit of the utility pants, the real cherry on top for me is how the colorway of my sneakers matches the color of my pants. The sneakers really pull this outfit together because every color now has at least one other piece with the same or similar color tone. A trick I love to have in many of my outfits. The sweater, bag, and sunglasses are all light, and the pants and shoes are green.
The sunglasses also add a beautiful sophistication to the whole outfit and the same sporty vibe of the sneakers that I love.
