Hello and happy February. Today marks the first blog post of the year and I’ve got a fun styling one to share with you guys. As always when it comes to adding an item to my wardrobe I can’t help but think about all of the outfits I could create with that piece. And most importantly outfits I would actually wear and feel at home in. Through the years, I’ve found greater satisfaction with my wardrobe when I purchase more pieces that can be worn in more ways than one.
There are of course exceptions to this way of thinking. I do love good statement pieces and special occasion pieces, and I think we need those for things to not get boring. But the stars align for me when I find a piece I consider to be special (almost like a statement piece), while also being versatile and incredibly wearable.
Insert a Vegan Leather Shirt Jacket.
Somehow both a staple and a statement, and I’m just head over heels for how it adds something to my outfits.
Let’s start styling, shall we?

#1 Open over Active Wear

The first way I love to wear my Vegan leather shirt jacket is open over active wear. Now I know this isn’t glamorous, but it sure is practical and it instantly elevates leggings (an item we all wear fairly regularly). So it’s a win in my book.
Style notes: I styled this jacket with an activewear set, tall socks, sneakers, a hat, and a classic slouch bag, and then just for fun added a simple gold necklace and statement earrings. I did save up and purchase the solid gold option because I want to cherish them for a long time, but they have a similar option for less here. Overall, aside from the jacket, I think the hat, sneakers, and bag give the most style points to this outfit, and those pieces are a great way to show off personal style.
A last little note: a cropped, knotted tee or a sports tank can accomplish a very similar feel if you find yourself wanting more coverage (I know I do at times). Here are a few that would work great: Free People You Rock Tee | Aerie Rouchy Ribbed Tank Top.

#2 As a Shirt

The second way I love to wear my Vegan Leather Shirt Jacket is buttoned up as an actual shirt. The versatility of a jacket is what makes me love it so much, it lays just as beautifully as a shirt, as it does a jacket.
Style notes: I wore a ribbed bralette with this so that it could drape open and still make me feel covered. I also added a belt that creates a beautiful waistline and adds interest to the whole look. The full-length denim, heeled bootie, rolled-up sleeves, and small shoulder bag additionally pull the whole thing together in a chic, but effortless way.
This look is one I’ve repeated many times which lets me know I’ve found something really true to my style!

#3 Open over a Knit

The last outfit that seems to go really well with a Leather Shirt Jacket is styling it over a knit. I like the idea of wearing the jacket like this because it gives more versatility to wear in colder months (not just in Spring and Fall).
Style Notes: Since the knit has a chunkier feel, I paired it with wide-leg jeans, and chunky boots to balance out the whole look. Overall a very cozy, but pulled-together outfit.
