Vetta Blazer Dress Look 3

03.20.19Winter Outfits1

And here we are at the final look of the Vetta Blazer Dress. It was really fun for me to experiment with styling this piece and now I feel like I have learned how I like to style it and I do not.

One tip I’ve found for getting the most out of the item you purchased and may be hesitant to wear is to style the heck out of it when you first get it. Style it until you find several ways you like it, and then when you’re pinched for time you’ll feel freer to grab it out of your closet because you know what you like and don’t right off the bat. I follow this rule myself and it always makes a difference. Allllllwaaaaaysssss!

Did I say always? 🙂

Now for the outfit details…

Styling | The true magic of this blazer is that the arms zip off… Gasp. Yep, that’s right, the arms zip off and then you have a swankie vest. For this look, that’s exactly what I did. I layered with a thin sweater underneath because I didn’t want the outfit to look bulky, added my signature necklaces, and pulled the whole look together with my nude boots and a nude bag.

I love the simplicity of this look. Definitely still on the classic side, but it’s a look that won’t go out of style, and I updated it with the boots and bag that are more modern.

Which brings up another point I’ve learned over the years on updating old clothing. If you are on a budget with what you can spend (which we all are) most of the time the easiest way to make things look fresh is to update shoes and bags.

Sometimes this can get expensive but you can get creative with finding your favorite designers and shopping second hand on places like Poshmark, or going to stores like DSW for you’re shoes.

For instance, I know that I have a love affair with Marc Fisher Ltd shoes, and I can find them both at Nordstrom Rack and DSW for a better price than buying at Nordstrom. I also love Vagabond Shoemakers and I can find them on Amazon or at Urban Outfitters where I can pay out over the span of two months using a program called Afterpay.

Knowing your most loved brands and sizing is work upfront but it has definitely paid off for me in the long run both in time and in money!

Fancy that :).

Ready for those Outfit Details?

The De-tails:

Button-fly skinny

Nude bag

Coin pendant

Coin necklace set

Vetta blazer dress / Similar here

Nude boot (limited sizing) / Similar here

Turtleneck sweater (old) / Similar here / Lighter weight option

And that’s what I’ve got for now!

Let me know all you’re thoughts are on this three-in-one piece, what you think are priority items when wardrobe sprucing, and what you do to ensure that you will wear the new pieces you bring into your wardrobe?

so much love,

Mary Beth

  • Hello friends happy Monday! I’M BACK! And I’ve dusted off the ol’ blogging fingers to share a more personal look at what 2020 was for me.☺️ . I went through so much growth this past year personally (didn’t we all), and worked through old struggles of fear, and self doubt that surfaced from old childhood trauma. But I have come out stronger and more resolved to be the person I was created to be. . Opening up about that and a snap shot of the highs and lows of this past year on the blog. Link in bio to read
  • Challenge Accepted.✨To my fellow woman, you are beautiful because of... The abuse you endured that you do not let define you. The disease or condition you developed that you do not let control you. The scars you have from childbirth that you choose to see as a souvenir. The times you chose a kind word over a tearing down comment. The times you looked at her with admiration and did not question your own worth. The times you gave your body the care it needed instead of pouring from an empty cup. For the all times you loved when it
  • Now more than ever it remains my heart to support brands who stand for something, whether that be their ethics (how they treat people), sustainability (how they treat the earth), or ways that they choose to honor both through giving. ✨ .
